ISRO ISTRAC Recruitment 2026: 10 Technical Assistant, Scientific Assistant & Other Posts

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), through its ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Bengaluru, has released ISTRAC Recruitment 2026 notification (Advt. No. ISTRAC:02:2026) inviting online applications for 10 post codes across six categories - Technical Assistant, Scientific Assistant, Library Assistant-A, Technician-B, Draughtsman-B, and Cook-A. 

Job Location: Bengaluru, MCF Hassan, and ISRO/ISTRAC centres anywhere in India

Technician-B

• Post Code 001 - ITI Electronics Mechanic: 5 vacancies at ISTRAC (UR-2, OBC-1, EWS-2) + 3 vacancies at MCF Hassan (UR-1, SC-1, EWS-1); 1 of the 3 MCF Hassan vacancies is identified for PwBD (HH - Hard of Hearing)

• Post Code 002 - ITI Carpenter: 1 vacancy (OBC-1)

Draughtsman-B

• Post Code 003 - Draughtsman (Civil): 1 vacancy (OBC-1, PwBD-OH backlog vacancy)

Salary Details (Pay Level in Pay Matrix):

• Technician-B (Post Code 001, 002) & Draughtsman-B (Post Code 003, 004): Pay Level 3 - ₹21,700/- per month + admissible allowances

• Technical Assistant (Post Code 005, 006) & Scientific Assistant (Post Code 007, 008): Pay Level 7 - ₹44,900/- per month + admissible allowances

• Library Assistant-A (Post Code 009) & Cook-A (Post Code 010): Pay Level 2 - ₹19,900/- per month + admissible allowances

• Post Code 001 (ITI Electronics Mechanic): SSLC/SSC/Matriculation + ITI/NTC/NAC in Electronics Mechanic/Technician Power Electronic Systems/Mechanic Consumer Electronic Appliances/Mechanic Industrial Electronics trade from NCVT

• Post Code 002 (ITI Carpenter): SSLC/SSC/Matriculation + ITI/NTC/NAC in Carpenter trade from NCVT

Draughtsman-B

• Post Code 003 (Draughtsman Civil): SSLC/SSC/Matriculation + ITI/NTC/NAC in Draughtsman Civil trade from NCVT

• Post Code 004 (Draughtsman Mechanical): SSLC/SSC/Matriculation + ITI/NTC/NAC in Draughtsman Mechanical trade from NCVT

Technical Assistant

• Post Code 005 (Electronics): First Class Diploma in Electronics from a recognized State Board

• Post Code 006 (Mechanical): First Class Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized State Board

• Note: Candidates who pursued the professional course through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are NOT eligible for Technical Assistant posts

Scientific Assistant

• Post Code 007 (Computer Science): First Class B.Sc. with Computer Science as main subject from a recognized University/Institution

• Post Code 008 (B.Sc Mathematics): First Class B.Sc. with Mathematics as main subject from a recognized University/Institution

Library Assistant-A

• Post Code 009: Graduate in First Class + First Class Master's degree in Library Science/Library & Information Science or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution

Cook-A

• Post Code 010: SSLC/SSC pass or equivalent + 5 years' experience as a cook in a reputed hotel/canteen (experience certificates from individuals will not be accepted)

Age Limit:

• 18-35 years as on 20.07.2026 (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit is Applicable For Reserved Categories)

Application Fee Details:

• Technical Assistant/Scientific Assistant/Library Assistant-A: Non-refundable application fee of ₹250/-; all candidates initially pay ₹750/- as processing fee

• Technician-B/Draughtsman-B/Cook-A: Non-refundable application fee of ₹100/-; all candidates initially pay ₹500/- as processing fee

• Processing fee refund: Only to candidates who appear in the Written Test/CBT

  • Refund of ₹500/- (Technical Assistant/Scientific Assistant/Library Assistant-A) and ₹400/- (Technician-B/Draughtsman-B/Cook-A) after fee deduction for general candidates

  • Full refund for women, SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates exempted from application fee
