Job Description:

Techversant is hiring System Administrator (Entry Level)

Location: Cochin

Experience: 1-2 years experience as a System Administrator or IT Support Professional

Qualification: B.Tech/B.E/MCA/BCA/BSc (Computer Science)

Basic Working knowledge of:

• Linux (Ubuntu)
• Windows OS & basic Windows Servers (basic)
• macOS

Preferred Certifications: CCNA, MCSE

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux (Ubuntu), Windows, and macOS
• Perform basic server administration: monitoring, backups, user management, and routine maintenance
• Handle hardware installation, maintenance, and replacements (desktops, laptops, servers, peripherals)
• Apply OS and application updates, patches, and security fixes
• Troubleshoot system, network, hardware, and software issues
• Support basic networking tasks (LAN/WAN, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP)
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
• Maintain system documentation, asset tracking, and IT inventories
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for issue resolution
• Follow IT policies, security best practices, and compliance standards
• Provide technical support to end users as required

Skills:

• Understanding of server concepts (on-prem or basic cloud)
• Experience in hardware troubleshooting and maintenance
• Knowledge of patch management and system updates
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN basics)
• Familiarity with system monitoring and backup concepts
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP - basic level)
• Basic security knowledge (firewalls, antivirus, access control)
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL concepts
• Basic scripting skills (Bash/PowerShell)
• Experience supporting remote users
