Kochi Metro Rail Limited: Apprentice Engagement 2026-27

Vacancy Details:

1. Graduate - Tech: 16 posts

• Qualifications: B.Tech/B.E in Civil, EEE/Electrical, ECE/Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechanical, IT/Computer Science
• Split: UR 6, SC 2, ST 1, OBC (NCL) 4, EWS 2

2. Graduate - Non-Tech: 6 posts

• Qualifications: BBA, B.Com, BCA
• Split: UR 2, SC 1, ST 0, OBC (NCL) 2, EWS 1

3. Diploma - Technician: 28 posts

• Trades: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science
• Split: UR 11, SC 4, ST 2, OBC (NCL) 8, EWS 3

4. Trade Apprentice - ITI: 20 posts

• Trades: Electrician, Electronics, Welder, Fitter, Plumber
• Split: UR 8, SC 3, ST 2, OBC (NCL) 5, EWS 2

Total: 70 Vacancies

Qualification and Monthly Stipend:

1. ITI Tradesmen: full-time ITI trade course; ₹9,600/-
2. Diploma Technician: full-time 3-year diploma; ₹10,900/- (including DBT)
3. Graduate Apprentices: full-time 4-year Engineering degree, or full-time 3-year BBA/B.Com/BCA; ₹12,300/- (including DBT)

Note: An additional ₹1,200 per month is paid as a food/messing allowance

Eligibility Criteria:

• Eligible candidates:
  • Hold the stated qualifications
  • Passed the final exam within five years of the application closing date
  • Are medically fit per the Apprentices Act, 1961
• Not eligible:
  • Those awaiting final exam results
  • Those under 18 years of age
  • Those who have undergone or are undergoing apprenticeship in any organisation, for any duration
• Additional conditions:
  • Qualifications obtained through part-time, correspondence, distance or online mode are not eligible
  • The percentage of marks in the final examination (not semester) must appear on the final or consolidated mark sheet; otherwise submit a Percentage Conversion Letter from the institute or university
  • The specialisation must appear on the degree or diploma certificate; otherwise submit a letter from the college, institute or university stating it

Apprenticeship Training Terms:

• DBT amount from Govt. of India (NATS scheme):
  • ₹5,450/- for Diploma apprentices
  • ₹6,150/- for Engineering and Non-Engineering graduates
  • Aadhaar seeding of the active bank account is facilitated by KMRL
• Duration: 1 year from the date of joining, with no extension
• Leave: 12 days Casual Leave (pro-rata) and 15 days Medical Leave for the year
• Performance: evaluated periodically
• Employment: completion of training gives no right to claim employment

• Degree and Diploma candidates (Engineering and Non-Engineering) register on NATS
• Complete or update the profile and upload all required documents

Step 2: Submit the application

• After getting the NAPS/NATS enrolment number, send the filled application form with documents to:
