Job Description:

A Reputed Firm is hiring Internal Audit Associate

Location: Thrissur

Experience: Must have hands-on experience in Internal Audits and Internal Controls during Articleship.

Qualification:

• Must have completed CA Inter.
• Must have completed 3 years of Articleship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Walk through business processes to understand workflows, identify key control points, and assist the Sr. Internal Auditor.
• Coordinate with various departments and the Sr. Internal Auditor to evaluate process effectiveness across Finance, Procurement, HR, Operations, Sales, Inventory, and IT.
• Review supporting documents such as invoices, GRNs, vouchers, contracts, and system logs.
• Verifying compliance with SOPs (procurement approvals, sales billing, cash disbursement).
• Testing samples for accuracy, completeness, and authorization.
• Inspecting inventory or assets for physical verification.
• Identify gaps, irregularities, or control weaknesses, document observations, and report them to the Sr. Internal Auditor.
• Assess compliance with applicable laws and regulations (Companies Act, GST, Income Tax), internal policies, and SOPs.
• Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of internal controls, especially in high-risk areas like cash handling, procurement, and inventory.
• Conduct surprise audits or special investigations related to fraud, inventory losses, or whistleblower complaints.
• Use data analytics to identify trends or anomalies (e.g., duplicate payments, irregular vendor activity).
• Assist the Sr. Internal Auditor in preparing comprehensive audit reports that include objectives, scope, findings, root causes, implications, and recommendations.
• Report directly to the Sr. Internal Auditor.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks.
• Expertise in audit planning, execution, and documentation
• Proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools such as Power BI.

Preference:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (not mandatory).
• Experience or working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
